A Mother Waits. Families Flee. A Nation Breaks.

What does it feel like when war becomes the soundtrack of daily life? When the ground shakes beneath your feet. When the sound of explosions is no longer shocking because it never really stops. When your children look to you for comfort, but you have no answers left to give.

What happens when a husband steps out to buy groceries and never comes home—caught in an explosion, in the wrong place at the wrong time, simply trying to feed his family? These are not distant stories to us. These are the stories of people we know.

Across Lebanon, violence has torn through ordinary life. Families are fleeing their homes with little more than what they can carry. Parents are making impossible choices. Families are sleeping in overcrowded schools that have been changed from learning centers into shelters. Classrooms once used for lessons are now filled with exhausted families, frightened children, and elderly men and women who left home without even the medications they depend on. Communities that were already struggling are now absorbing wave after wave of displaced families with nowhere else to go.

The scale of the crisis is staggering. Current estimates indicate that more than 1.2 million people have been displaced, including more than 600,000 from southern Lebanon alone. In just one day this week, more than 250 people were reportedly killed as hostilities intensified. For the communities we serve, this is not abstract. It is personal. It is immediate. And it is heartbreaking.

As conditions became increasingly dangerous, the Oasis Center, which we have helped build and support for the past ten years, was forced to temporarily close. For hundreds of children and young adults, it has been far more than a place of education. It has also been a place of stability, care, and daily meals.

Our partners have quickly shifted to support displaced families arriving in the Zahle area, which has become a relatively safer refuge near the Bekaa Valley. Our Together for the Family team is on the ground providing practical, life-giving support, distributing food parcels, hygiene supplies, and essential items for children and the elderly. Our medical team is also offering free check-ups and treatment to those who are sick, injured, or unable to access care.

But the need is growing faster than available resources.

Right now, WalkWithMe.global is attempting to provide urgently needed medications, medical supplies, infant formula, and food for vulnerable families affected by displacement.

These are the kinds of needs that mark the line between despair and relief, between feeling forgotten and knowing someone cares. And when we say Lebanon, we are not talking about an abstract crisis or a place on a map. We are talking about mothers trying to comfort frightened children, fathers desperate to find food and safety, elderly men and women cut off from medicine, and families who have lost everything. These are real people carrying an unbearable weight, simply trying to make it through each day.

In the middle of that heartbreak, practical help still matters. If you would like to help, you can give to our Emergency Response Fund.
